Provincial Nominee Program
The Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) allows Canadian provinces and territories to nominate individuals who wish to immigrate to Canada and who are interested in settling in a particular province or territory. Each province and territory has its streams and requirements.
Eligibility Requirements:
To be eligible for the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP), you must:
- Qualify for one of the PNP programs offered by the province or territory.
- Be nominated by the province or territory.
- Qualify for one of the three Express Entry programs:
- Federal Skilled Worker Program
- Canadian Experience Class
- Have the skills, education and work experience to settle and support yourself and your family in Canada.
Documents Requirement:
To apply for the Canadian PNP program, you need to present your:
- Current passport and travel history
- Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) Report
- Proof of work experience
- Proof of settlement funds
- Recent medical report
- Police clearance certificate
- Other supporting documents
How to Apply?
You can apply for the Canada Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs) in two ways.
1. Express Entry System
- Create an Express Entry profile online.
- Show your interest in immigrating to a specific province or territory.
- If you meet the criteria, the province or territory sends a “Notification of Interest (NOI)” to your account.
- If nominated, you'll receive a nomination certificate to your account.
- Submit the EOI (Expression of Interest) to the Express Entry stream.
2. Non- Express Entry System (paper-based application)
- Choose a province that meets the requirements for eligibility.
- Submit your Expression of Interest (EOI) via the non-Express Entry channel.
- The province or territory's point system will be used to evaluate the application.
- Upon selection, the applicants will receive a nomination letter.
- After this, the candidates must submit a paper application for a Permanent Residency visa to the IRCC (Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada).

All Canadian provinces and territories except Quebec participate in the Provincial Nominee Program. Each region has its specific PNP, offering unique pathways to permanent residency. These provinces and territories include:

- Northwest Territories
- Nova Scotia
- Ontario
- Prince Edward Island

Processing Time
The processing time for the Canada PNP program varies depending on the province or territory and the number of applications received. Each province or territory has different processing times for reviewing and assessing PNP applications. It takes around 7 months to process the application. This processing time includes the time you need to give your biometrics.
