How to Apply for Family Sponsor
- Ensure you meet the eligibility criteria to be a sponsor.
- Ensure that the member you want to sponsor must meet the eligibility criteria.
- Gather required documents like proof of identity, relationship, and financial documents.
- Fill out digital forms accurately and submit them online.
- You will be required to pay the family Sponsorship application fee and wait for processing.
- Attend interviews or provide additional information if requested by IRCC.
- You will receive a decision from IRCC regarding your sponsorship application.
Family Sponsorship Agreement & Undertaking
The Family Sponsorship Agreement and Undertaking is a legal contract between the sponsor and the Canadian government. It outlines the sponsor’s responsibility to financially support and assist the sponsored family member(s) in settling in Canada. The agreement includes obligations such as providing financial assistance and ensuring the sponsored family member(s) do not rely on social assistance. The sponsor commits to repay any social assistance provided to the sponsored family member(s) by the government during the undertaking period. Failure to meet the terms of the agreement can have legal consequences for the sponsor.
